Brian Rose, an independent candidate for London Mayor released a campaign film (13.12.20) which featured his time as a mentor for Chance UK.
Chance UK want to make clear that we are not affiliated with Mr Rose ‘s Mayoral Campaign or any political party.
We were not approached for permission to reference the Charity or its work and were unaware that the details of an individual case was being used in this way. We have contacted Mr Rose to ask that the film is taken down.
We also want to reassure families, referrers, funders and partners that we treat information from children and families we support with the utmost respect and in line with our obligations under data protection guidance and legislation.
In the film, Mr Rose refers to us to as a privately funded organisation – however we are in fact a registered charity and are supported by a range of funders including local and national governments, trusts, foundations and businesses. As such we adhere to Charity Commission Guidance which means that we cannot give support to any one political party or candidate.
We support a diverse community across London and deliver services with people from all walks of life. We are proud of our ongoing and long-standing commitment to speaking out for the children and families we serve. However we do not align ourselves with any one political party or individual and have worked with a range of politicians on particular issues of relevance to our charitable objectives.
